ABSTRACT
Domestic violence has always been a serious concern for many people around the world. As the name suggests, domestic violence refers to the undesirable and inhumane treatment of a person within their immediate environment, typically within the home. It often affects the victims in severe ways having a negative impact on their physical and mental health. These have far reaching consequence and may lead to conditions like anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, trust issues, etc. Those it can happen to anyone in at any place and in any country, the most common victims of domestic violence are women who belong to either backward or developing countries. It is high time that people take this issue seriously and come together to create a society free of any violence irrespective of gender, prejudices and status. It is our responsibility as a community to be the voices of those in need of help against such violences. Awareness and active participation for this cause is of utmost importance.
